Red Dawn (1984)

Red Dawn is a 1984 American action film directed by John Millias, scripted by Kevin Reynolds and Milius. It stars Patrick Suez, Charlie Sheen, c. Thomas Howell, Leah Thompson, Jennifer Gray, Ben Johnson, Harry Dean Stanton, Ron O'Neill, William Smith and Powers Booth. It was the first film to be released in the United States with a PG-13 rating (under the revised rating system introduced on July 1, 1984).

The film depicts a United States invaded by the Soviet Union and its Cuban and Nicaraguan allies. However, the outbreak of World War III is not told in the background and in full detail. The story follows a group of American high school students who resist occupation with guerrilla warfare, naming themselves "Wolverine" after their high school mascot. Despite mixed reviews from critics, the film was a commercial success, grossing $ 38 million against a budget of $ 17 million.
